The famous Carlo’s Bakery has been affected by ‘frankenstorm’ Hurricane Sandy that swept through New Jersey, New York and surrounding areas on Tuesday (30 October).
The Hoboken-based company has told fans via their website that “Due to the lack of power at the bakery and cake factory, both locations remain closed until further notice. Please check back for updates. Thank You!”
Much like a lot of news and updates post-Sandy, Carlo’s Bakery have also used Twitter to inform their followers that all classes and consultations have been cancelled, and committed to contacting everyone who had made a booking once power had been restored. They thanked everyone for their patience.
Cake Boss and bakery owner, Buddy Valastro, has also sent out a personal Tweet telling everyone:
“Thx [thanks] for the well-wishes! The whole family is doing good. We’re working hard to [Carlo's Bakery] and Hoboken on their feet.”
The Daily Torte hopes Carlo’s Bakery and everyone affected by the devastating storm are back on their feet soon!

glad to see your family and staff are all ok
Miss seeing you on TV. Hope you have plans to have another TV series

Knowing Buddy and his family from the show, it seems that they would put their time and effort into helping their community. I would not be surprised to hear that they were baking to feed the community in need.
You’re absolutely right Brandy – they’re one generous family-based business! Thanks for your comment.
